Scandi Standard, the Swedish poultry producer, has entered into an agreement to acquire Glenhaven Foods, an Irish producer of frozen value-added poultry products, at an enterprise value of €127 million ($138 million).
The acquisition expands Scandi Standard’s presence in the UK and Ireland, building upon the leading position of its Irish business, Manor Farm. Founded in 1986, Glenhaven Foods employs approximately 190 people and supplies major retail, foodservice and quick-service restaurant customers across Ireland and the UK.
Jonas Tunestål, CEO of Scandi Standard, stated: “Glenhaven Foods is an excellent strategic fit for Scandi Standard. The acquisition strengthens our position in value-added and Ready-to-Eat poultry products, expands our presence in Ireland and the UK and brings a highly capable team with a strong track record of profitable growth”.
Barry Cahill, CEO and co-owner of Glenhaven Foods, commented: “We truly believe Scandi Standard and Manor Farm are the right partners for our next chapter. They bring the scale and ambition to help us grow, while holding onto the family values that make Glenhaven what it is today”.
Scandi Standard intends to finance the acquisition through proceeds from a rights issue of approximately 408 million SEK ($39 million), available credit facilities and an interest-free vendor note. Subject to customary conditions, completion is expected in the third quarter of 2026.
