Dodla Dairy, the Indian dairy processing company, is set to establish a new manufacturing unit in Bihar through its wholly owned subsidiary, HR Food Processing Pvt Limited.

The company has been allotted 311,333 sq ft (7.15 acres) of land by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) on a 90-year lease. Located in the Dumaria industrial area of the Motipur cluster, the new processing facility is intended to produce a diverse range of products, including milk, curd (dahi), paneer, lassi, butter, ghee, flavoured milk and milk sweets.

Commenting on the development, the company stated that it has “accepted the terms and conditions of the allotment and is currently completing the required formalities for acquisition of the land”.

This expansion is part of Dodla Dairy’s ongoing strategy to bolster its manufacturing capabilities and market penetration. In August 2025, the firm strengthened its presence in Eastern India by acquiring HR Food Processing – the operator of the Osam brand in Bihar and Jharkhand – for a consideration of 271 crore INR ($28.91 million). The new plant is expected to further enhance supply chain logistics and meet growing consumer demand in the region.
