Kneipp, the German health and personal care brand, has opened a new manufacturing plant at its headquarters in Ochsenfurt-Hohestadt as part of a €65 million ($72 million) investment program.
According to the company, the investment comprises a new facility, modernised equipment, automation and digital processes. The expansion doubles Kneipp’s production space from around 5,000 sq m to 10,000 sq m, supporting its growth strategy and product innovation pipeline.
Katharina Höhne, CEO of the Kneipp Group, commented: “With the new plant, we are strengthening ‘Made in Germany’. We are not only investing in space, but in the capabilities with which Kneipp is shaping its future: in more capacity, more efficient processes and greater automation”.
The Ochsenfurt-Hohestadt site represents Kneipp’s sole production location, supplying 16 countries across Europe and Asia and employing around 430 people. Kneipp manufactures over 94% of its 480-strong product range in Germany, spanning bath, shower, skincare, dietary supplements and herbal medicines.
Founded in 1891, the Wurzburg-headquartered Kneipp employs around 650 people globally and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of healthcare company Paul Hartmann AG.
