Ferrero France, the French subsidiary of the Italian confectionery group, has announced a new €30 million ($32.1 million) investment at its Nieppe factory in Hauts-de-France, operated by affiliated company Biscuits Delacre, to launch Nutella Cookies.
This funding will back the installation of a production line unique to the European market. The announcement marks the latest stage of a broader industrial plan by the group, which has invested nearly €210 million ($225 million) in France since 2021. This historical total includes a €15 million ($16 million) industrial and environmental modernization of its Villers-Ecalles site in Normandy – which produces 26% of the world’s Nutella chocolate spread – alongside a separate €15 million ($16 million) investment into a new 3kg Nutella packaging line for professionals.
Mauro de Felip, managing director of Ferrero France, commented: “The investments announced today translate our willingness to pursue a sustainable and concrete development on the territory, by reinforcing our industrial capacities, by supporting the innovation of our brands – such as the launch of Nutella Cookies on the French market – and by contributing sustainably to the economic dynamism of the regions in which we operate”.
