MANCHESTER – 17th June 2025: Gama, a global provider of business information and services specializing in FMCG product innovation and international trade, is today pleased to reveal the finalists that have been shortlisted for the 2025 edition of the Gama Innovation Awards.
Recognising outstanding innovation in the FMCG space, the products shortlisted for the Gama Innovation Awards represent the very best launches unearthed in the last year by Gama’s global network of in-country researchers and analysts across twelve categories: Product, Packaging, Positioning, Branding & Design, SME, Health & Wellness, Best of Britain, Best of Middle East, Hospitality, Travel, Sustainability and Technology. Sustainability and Technology are new categories for 2025, reflecting the growing importance of both as key innovation drivers for the FMCG sector.
As ever, this year’s shortlisted finalists serve as a valuable lens through which to understand the major trends that have been shaping FMCG innovation over the last year – and reveal that issues of sustainability remain very much at the forefront of brands’ (and consumers’) concerns. Emerging as the breakout trend for the year is the repurposing of manufacturing waste into innovative new product concepts, as the constrained financial environment and supply chain challenges compel brands to seek out cheaper, readily-available raw materials. Elsewhere, fruit and vegetable-based formulations remain an important source of inspiration for brands developing alternatives to dairy and bakery products in particular, while playful snacking concepts that reinvent traditional dishes such as pasta and rice demonstrate consumers’ continued appetite for the quirky and the novel.
Commenting on the shortlist, Gama Innovation Director Silvia Ruiz said: “In compiling the shortlists for the Gama Innovation Awards we sifted through thousands of new and innovative products from over 50 countries, selecting only the most ground-breaking few for consideration by our expert judging panel. As a result, we can be confident that the 120 shortlisted finalists – hailing from more than 30 different countries – truly represent some of the most significant innovations in FMCG from the past year”.
“As we celebrate our landmark tenth edition, the Gama Innovation Awards 2025 will be a fantastic opportunity for all of our worthy finalists to take their place in the spotlight, among a select audience of industry thought leaders from across the globe”.
The overall winner in each category, as voted by a panel of international judges, will be announced on Wednesday 22nd October 2025 during the Gama Innovation Conference & Awards.
