Ipanema Lacteos, the Brazilian dairy producer, has completed the purchase of Laticinio Na Morada for an undisclosed sum. The transaction, finalised this month, marks the company’s entry into the artisanal and premium cheese segments.
Based in Bueno Brandao, Minas Gerais, Laticinio Na Morada owns the Serra das Antas and Chevre D’Or brands. Serra das Antas specialises in cow milk cheeses, while Chevre D’Or focuses on goat milk dairy products. According to reports, the brands will operate as an independent business unit to maintain their original production processes and identities.
Ipanema Lacteos claimed the acquisition aligns with a strategy of non-organic growth into higher-value categories. “Our strategy is to preserve the essence of the Serra das Antas and Chevre D’Or brands”, stated Raul Menocci and Fernando Menocci, co-CEOs of Grupo Ipanema Lacteos. It added that the deal found “great synergy” between the values of the two family-run businesses.
Ipanema Lacteos has over 40 years of industry experience. Its existing portfolio includes products such as mozzarella, coalho cheese and cream.
