Hero, the Swiss preserves, snacks, and infant nutrition manufacturer, has announced the acquisition of Brazilian snack company Super Saude Nutricional through its local subsidiary.
Founded in 2013, Super Saude offers a 36-strong product range under its Pinati brand, including protein bars, cups, chips, nut bars and a variety of better-for-you sweet snacks.
Hero said the acquisition would allow it to enter the Brazilian snack market, strengthening its international presence following the acquisition of Deliciously Ella in September 2024.
Commenting on the move, Hero Group CEO Christian Schierbaum said: “This acquisition continues our strategy to expand our snack business and enter regions with high snack penetration. We believe that Pinati is a perfect match, not only in terms of portfolio, but also in terms of culture, way of working and company values”.
Hero Brasil CEO Cristiano de Moraes added: “This movement represents a milestone in the trajectory of Hero Brasil, which since its foundation in 1986, has always operated in the category of fruit and sweet and sour jams. From this acquisition, we will be present in a new business front that grows every year, in full line with the global strategy of the Hero group”.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
