Yellow Wood Partners, the US private equity firm, has agreed to acquire the Holistic Health platform from global food manufacturer Nestlé for $1.0 billion.

Holistic Health is a global vitamins, minerals and supplements business featuring a portfolio of established brands. The platform includes Nature’s Bounty – the second-largest overall supplement brand and top women’s health brand in the US – alongside specialty brands Nuun, Osteo Bi-Flex and Gard. Nature’s Bounty products are bought by over 20% of US households.

Dana Schmaltz, partner at Yellow Wood Partners, commented: “Holistic Health is an excellent platform of trusted brands with deep retailer relationships providing significant opportunities for continued growth. The Holistic Health portfolio provides a group of specialty category leaders in various high growth sectors of the attractive VMS market, including hydration, gut health and immunity”.

Operating as a standalone entity, the business will implement Yellow Wood’s Consumer Operating DNA model, which has previously been used to drive growth in carve-outs such as Q-tips, Chapstick, Suave and Dr. Scholl’s. The transaction marks Yellow Wood’s sixth significant carve-out acquisition from five major consumer companies including Bayer, Reckitt, Unilever and Haleon. Subject to regulatory approvals, the deal is expected to close by the first half of 2027.
