VAFO Group, the Czech-founded European pet food company, has acquired Pets Deli, a German direct-to-consumer (D2C) pet food brand.
The transaction expands VAFO Group’s presence in Germany and adds a digital platform offering wet food, dry food, raw feeding, snacks and supplements for dogs and cats. Pets Deli will continue to operate under its own brand, with future plans focusing on accelerating D2C growth, expanding the product portfolio and using VAFO’s manufacturing and sourcing capabilities.
VAFO Group generates an annual turnover of over €700 million ($766 million), while Pets Deli reports turnover exceeding €40 million ($44 million).
Pavel Bouška, chairman of the board of VAFO Group, stated: “Pets Deli fits our group really well: a strong brand, close to consumers, with a clear digital mindset and significant growth potential. Germany is one of the most important pet food markets in Europe, and for us, Pets Deli is the right partner to strengthen our position there”.
Pascal Haenle, managing director and COO of Pets Deli, added: “Access to world-class manufacturing, R&D and procurement means better products for our customers, faster – and at a stronger margin – without ever compromising on the quality they trust us for”.
