Zevia, the US-based firm specialising in zero-calorie, naturally sweetened soft drinks, has announced that it is expanding into new categories with the launch of energy drinks and sparkling water.
Zevia Energy, containing 120 mg of “natural caffeine”, will be available in the flavours Mango Ginger, Raspberry Lime and Grapefruit, with an RRP of $1.99 per can. Meanwhile Zevia Sparkling Water will be sold in eight packs with a suggested retail price of $5.99 and in the flavours Lime, Blackberry, Cucumber Lemon and Mandarin Orange. Both lines are said to be free from GMOs and calories and sweetened with stevia.
Commenting on the launch, Zevia CEO Paddy Spence said: “Our experience building the first mainstream zero-calorie, naturally sweetened soda brand has been that consumers are looking for better-for-you versions across the beverage category. We’re looking to address obvious consumer needs as we expand natural diet beverage options – energy with clean ingredients and flavored sparkling water with a bit of sweetness were a good next step”.
