V&V Supremo Foods, a Chicago-based producer of Mexican dairy and meat products, has announced plans to establish a new state-of-the-art production facility in Jefferson (WI).

The company has acquired a 39-acre site for the development, which is intended to increase manufacturing capacity to meet rising national demand for its portfolio. While specific investment figures were not disclosed, the facility will be designed with advanced manufacturing technology and sustainable practices, the company said. V&V Supremo, founded in 1964 and the oldest family-owned Hispanic cheese company in the USA, produces items including Chihuahua Brand cheese, chorizo and traditional cremas.

Philip Villaseñor, chief integrator at V&V Supremo Foods, stated: “Jefferson is the perfect place for our next chapter. This expansion reflects our confidence in the future and commitment to serving our consumers, retail, foodservice and industrial partners”.

The move follows the company’s 2022 acquisition of Mill Creek Cheese, which also focused on bolstering its production footprint in Wisconsin. The firm recently celebrated its 60th anniversary, having transitioned 98% of its product catalogue to a modernised packaging design as part of its ongoing growth strategy.
