Sweet Harvest Foods, the self-proclaimed leader in the US natural sweetener industry, has announced the acquisition of Sweet River Honey, a honey producer based in the state of Texas.

In a press release, the firm said the acquisition would add hives and beekeeping experience to its portfolio and enable it to expand its operations.

Ken Stickevers, CEO of Sweet Harvest Foods, commented: “Sweet Harvest Foods Holdings is deeply committed to growing the natural sweetener market with the highest-quality honey. By adding Sweet River Honey to our portfolio of companies, we can continue to build trust with customers by advancing best-in-class beekeeping practices and increasing transparency in the honey market”.

Last year Sweet Harvest Foods merged with Nature Nate’s Honey Co., the leading branded honey company in the US and producer of 100% pure, raw and unfiltered honey.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
