Ocean Spray has revealed the launch of Ocean Spray Pact, a new product made with cranberry extract and purified water.
According to Ocean Spray, Pact contains PACs (proanthocyanidins) extracted from cranberries which are said to help the body to “cleanse and purify better than water alone”.
“Consumers are looking to hydrate in a more meaningful way,” said Ken Romanzi, chief operating officer of global brands at Ocean Spray. “They want beverages that offer true functional benefits. With the launch of Pact Cranberry Extract Water, we’ve created an even better water that harnesses the unique power of the cranberry through a breakthrough cranberry extract innovation, 10 years in the making. Pact water contains the cleansing and purifying benefits of the cranberry without all the sugar and calories”.
Pact is described as being made with just seven ingredients: purified water, 80mg of cranberry PACs, the natural sweeteners agave nectar, stevia, and monk fruit extract, natural fruit flavours and sea salt
The four varieties of the product –Cranberry Pomegranate, Cranberry Raspberry, Cranberry Blood Orange and Cranberry Mango-Passion Fruit – are initially on sale in California, Nevada and online but are due for release across the US by the beginning of 2015.
