Nestle, the Swiss consumer goods giant, has announced an investment of $150 million to expand its frozen food facility in Gaffney, South Carolina.
The investment will be used to install a new production line for single-serve frozen meals and upgrade automation and digital technology.
Operating since 1980, the Gaffney plant produces frozen food for brands such as Stouffer’s and Lean Cuisine and is one of 112 facilities owned by the company in the US.
Commenting on the move, Nestle’s Gaffney plant factory manager Nicole Caldwell said: “This investment further solidifies our dedication to the Gaffney community, where Nestle has been an integral part for nearly 45 years. It also reflects our continued commitment to enhance our US manufacturing footprint and in-house capabilities”.
“These enhancements will enable us to meet the consumer demand for the beloved brands in our frozen meals portfolio”, she added.
