Milo’s, an Alabama-based firm that manufactures, distributes, markets and sells ice teas and lemonades throughout the USA, has announced plans to build its fourth manufacturing plant in Spartanburg County, SC.
The company said the expansion was a direct response to the growth of the Milo’s brand, which it claimed was the number one refrigerated tea and fastest growing lemonade in the U.S. The 110,000 sq ft facility will initially employ more than 100 staff, with further production lines expected to be added over the coming years.
Plans for the new plant were revealed less than four years after the company announced the construction of its third production facility in Tulsa, OK.
“South Carolina was the optimal location to efficiently serve our customers up and down the east coast. […]”, commented Milo’s CEO Tricia Wallwork. “South Carolina and Spartanburg County in particular proved to be the right ecosystem to help us advance our People First culture by offering an excellent standard of living for our associates and robust workforce development resources to drive economic prosperity not only for our people but also for the region.”
The new plant is due to begin operations in autumn 2024.
