Keurig Dr Pepper, the soft drinks and coffee firm, has acquired the caffeinated sparkling water brand Limitless for an undisclosed sum, according to a BevNET report.
Founded in Chicago in 2016, Limitless produces calorie-free, sparkling water containing 35mg of caffeine per 12oz can. Reportedly inspired by “a passion for finding the cleanest caffeine possible”, the line comes in a choice of Watermelon, Ginger Mint, Cucumber Pear, Blood Orange, Lemon Lime and Grapefruit Hibiscus flavours.
Alongside its flagship energy drink, the company also manufactures cold brew coffee and matcha green tea powder.
Commenting on the deal, Keurig Dr Pepper said it intended to expand distribution of Limitless beyond Walmart, the brand’s primary retailer at present, adding that the sparkling water line (rather than the firm’s tea and coffee business) would be its primary focus.
Limitless will join CORE Hydration, Bai and Evian in Keurig Dr Pepper’s water brand portfolio, the latter distributed via a long-term master agreement with Danone Waters of America.
