Frito-Lay, the snacking division of food and drinks giant PepsiCo, is investing $70 million to upgrade a prodjction facility in Frankfort, IN, according to a report in Inside Indiana Business.
The investment is reportedly to be used to install a new snack production line as well as to expand an existing warehouse. 45 jobs are expected to be created as a result of the upgrade.
News of the expansion follows a previous $159 million investment in Frito-Lay’s Clinton County operations, announced in August last year, which saw two new production lines and extra warehousing capacity added. That investment increased the size of Frito-Lay’s operations by 210,000 sq ft.
Frito-Lay currently operates more than 30 manufacturing facilities across the USA, producing 17 different snacks at its sites in Frankfort.
