DanoneWave, the business unit of dairy and drinks giant Danone in the USA, has announced it is to invest $60 million in a plant-based beverage facility in Virginia.
The company will add production capacity and will expand the warehouse at the Mt Crawford facility, generating 46 new jobs.
DanoneWave was formed following the acquisition of WhiteWave Foods by Danone for $12.5 billion and is now the largest public benefit corporation in the US.
The DanoneWave portfolio includes Activia, DanActive, Danimals, Dannon, Danonino, Danone, Earthbound Farm, Horizon Organic dairy products, International Delight coffee creamers and iced coffee, Light & Fit and Oikos Greek yogurt, Silk plant-based foods and beverages, So Delicious Dairy Free, Vega and Wallaby Organic.
