Global beverage giant Coca-Cola has inaugurated a new bottling facility as part of its previously announced $100 million investment in Cambodia from 2015 to 2018. The plant was constructed for Cambodia Beverage Company, the bottling unit of The Coca-Cola Company Bottling Investments Group (BIG).
Located in the capital Phnom Penh, the new “state of the art” plant is expected to generate approximately 300 jobs and will begin operating with two production lines with an option of 6 additional lines, as demand warrants, according to the company.
Commenting on the new facility, BIG president Irial Finan said: “This new factory reaffirms our strong belief in this country, and helps us to capture the growth opportunities in this young, increasingly competitive and dynamic marketplace. We look forward to creating a stronger future for our communities and businesses in this country”.
