Coca-Cola, the soft drinks multinational, is making its first foray into prebiotic sodas with the launch of Simply Pop, a new brand line made with 6g of prebiotic fibre for gut health, as well as vitamin C and zinc for immune function.
Claimed to contain 25-30% fruit juice from concentrate and to be free from added sugar, Simply Pop prebiotic soda will be sold in 12oz cans in the varieties Strawberry, Pineapple Mango, Fruit Punch, Lime and Citrus Punch.
Commenting on the launch, Coca‑Cola CEO of Nutrition Becca Kerr said: “Ssince many brands in this category are new, they were looking to align with names they know and trust for both quality and taste. This was particularly true for those curious about prebiotic sodas but who hadn’t yet taken the leap. We knew that in order to bring new drinkers into the category, we had to strike that perfect balance of innovation and trust”.
Coca-Cola North America Brand Senior Director Terika Fasakin added: “This has truly been a labor of love for the team because we know Simply Pop is a great-tasting prebiotic soda consumers wan. We’ve pushed ourselves to move fast while staying strategic and focused”.
