Carolina Foods, a bakery and pastry manufacturer, has announced that they are building a new manufacturing facility in Pineville.
According to sources, the new facility will cover an area of 423,000 sq feet and will be located only a few miles away from where California Foods started in 1934.
The company plans to close the facility that is currently operating, aiming to move to the new facility in 2024, until then the two facilities will be run simultaneously. There are no expected changes in the permanent workforce post-move, however, there may be a 20% increase in the temporary workforce.
The CEO of Carolina Foods, Dan Myers, said: “In addition to being twice the size of our current space, our new facility will be totally climate controlled, providing a pleasant work environment that also allows us to maintain our high-quality standards”.
The new facility is expected to be operational by 2023.
