Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts, a Hawaiian firm best known for mochi ice cream, has announced the opening of a new “state-of-the-art” manufacturing plant in Phoenix, AZ.
According to a company statement, the plant is the manufacturer’s first on the US mainland, adding to an existing facility at Aiea in Hawaii. The move will increase production capacity and respond to success the company has enjoyed both in the US and overseas, the firm added.
Rick Schaffer, CEO at Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts, said: “Not only is our new Phoenix facility state-of-the-art, it gives us strategic distribution capacity from the mainland […] Our new manufacturing facility is a game changer for us and for the industry”.
The facility, claimed to be a multi-million-dollar investment, is also set to expand the company’s distribution network of specialty, independent and national grocery chains that includes Kroger, Whole Foods Market and Safeway.
