Brynwood Partners, the investment group that owns Cold Spring Brewing, has announced the complete acquisition of Carolina Beverage Group from SunTx Capital Partners.
The deal, agreed for an undisclosed sum, includes three manufacturing facilities, a warehouse and a broad range of value-added production services. Carolina Beverage is a contract manufacturer that processes malt beverages, distilled spirits, energy drinks, teas, functional drinks and RTD beverages.
On completion of the deal, the company will be merged with Cold Spring Brewing, a contract drinks maker previously acquired by Brynwood Partners, with headquarters to be located in the Charlotte, NC area. The combined company will be one of the largest independently-owned contract manufacturers in the beverage sector.
Commenting on the move, Brynwood Partners CEO Henk Hartong III said: “We are excited about the opportunity to create a company with a significant manufacturing footprint in the value-added beverage space that will strengthen our ability to service both national branded and retail customers with innovative products in flexible packaging solutions. Value-added manufacturing is an important sector and an area that Brynwood continues to make significant investments in”.
