Beyond Meat, the US-based plant-based meat substitute producer, has ventured outside the food category for the first time with the launch of a new functional protein beverage line.
The new product, branded as Beyond Immerse, has been introduced as a “refreshing” plant-based protein drink designed to support muscle health, gut health, and immune function. The range, which is free from GMOs and sugar alcohols, features a base of pea protein and tapioca fibre, fortified with electrolytes and antioxidant citamin C. Available in the flavours Peach Mango, Lemon Lime, and Orange Tangerine, the line offers two nutritional profiles: a “lighter” version with 10g of protein and 60 calories, and a higher-protein option containing 20g of protein and 100 calories.
Ethan Brown, Beyond Meat founder and CEO, commented: “With Beyond Immerse, we are bringing our pioneering expertise in unlocking the power of plants to a functional beverage line. Our intent is simple: immerse the consumer in the remarkable nutrition of plants—from protein to fiber, with the addition of antioxidants and electrolytes—all in a single refreshing and satisfying 12 fl oz drink.
Beyond Meat has initially made the new beverages available exclusively through The Beyond Test Kitchen, its direct-to-consumer platform, .
