Vestey Holdings, a firm specialised in the sourcing, processing and distribution of chilled, ambient and frozen products, has acquired food manufacturer Cottage Delight via its subsidiary Fine Foods Group for an undisclosed amount.
Cottage Delight started out as a fudge manufacturer and currently produces and sells around 700 different items including fudge, jams, chutneys, sauces and baked goods. The company is also established as a supplier to such retailers as John Lewis and Lakeland.
Somerset-based Fine Foods deals in the supply and wholesale of speciality fine foods to the catering industry and is involved in sectors such as meat, dairy and seasonal produce.
Commenting on the move, Vestey Holdings CEO George Vestey said: “This acquisition is part of Vestey Holding’s UK strategy and Cottage Delight is a great opportunity for us to strengthen our presence in the branded fine foods sector”.
