UK retailer Tesco has announced the launch of a new range of ecologically-certified household products under the label Tesco Eco Active.
According to a press release from the retailer, the launch responds to consumer demand for more environmentally-friendly products, which is at an all-time high in the UK.
Tesco’s household goods product developer Sanjeev Kaushal said: “Customers tells us that they want to buy eco-cleaning products but they must be effective, affordable, easily available and independently certified to not harm the environment. They also want complete transparency on how they are produced, the ingredients they contain and the impact they have on the environment. We believe our new range of products answers all that criteria”.
The products are described as featuring recyclable bottles containing up to 45% recyclable plastic and as being made from plant-based, non-toxic, biodegradable ingredients. They also EU Ecolabel certified.
The range comprises seven products: a multisurface cleaner, a toilet cleaner, a washing up liquid, two fabric conditioners and two laundry detergents.
