UK-based luxury pudding manufacturer Gu is to open a new facility in Bishop’s Stortford, UK, according to a report in the Hertfordshire and Essex Observer.
The company plans on relocating its operations from its current factory in Walthamstow, London to the newly acquired 100,000 sq ft facility in Bishop’s Stortford, Essex which is expected to be open by summer of 2017. The new plant will be used to produce desserts as well as having technical, supply chain and warehouse functions.
Gu, which is part of The Noble Foods Group, manufactures and distributes luxury chilled desserts throughout the UK, as well as in France and Germany.
Commenting on the move, Gu managing director Sarah Baldwin said: “We’re delighted to be setting up operations in the historic town of Bishop’s Stortford. Not only does the new site give us room to grow, it’s located close to our London HQ and near to the M11 making it an excellent logistics hub”.
