Dr. Oetker, the Germany-based food firm, has completed a £30 million ($39 million) upgrade to its pizza manufacturing facility in Leyland, Lancashire, UK, according to a report in Business Lancashire.
The site, which manufactures the firm’s Chicago Town and Ristorante pizza lines, has seen a doubling in total capacity with a new production line for the Chicago Town Deep Dish pizzas range. The upgrade also includes new raw materials storage capacity and new technology for faster and more efficient freezing, according to information.
Commenting on the investment, Dr. Oetker UK managing director Georg Heerdegen Parsbo said: “Dr. Oetker is incredibly proud of our world-class facility and our new investment means we can continue to meet the demands for our great tasting pizzas both here in the UK and overseas. Dr. Oetker philosophy of ‘Quality is the Best Recipe’ is at the heart of the business and our investment demonstrates a clear commitment to the UK business and the future of pizza manufacturing in our Leyland facility”.
