Leading Danish brewer Carlsberg has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Wernesgruner brewery from Bitburger Braugruppe. According to Carlsberg, Wernesgruner is one of the most traditional German beer brands and will give Carlsberg a better position in northern and eastern Germany.
