Swiss foods company Hugli, which develops, produces and markets products such as soups, sauces, bouillons, ready to serve meals, desserts and functional food for both foodservice and retail channels, has announced that it is acquiring the assets of primaVita GmbH, a company of the Bioherba Group.
The acquisition mainly comprises the Eden and GranoVita brands, the associated client list and the inventory of products. From 2015, the business is expected to generate annual turnover of around € 17 million ($21 million).
With the acquisition of Eden and GranoVita, Hugli said it was taking over two “strong and well established brands that stand for 100 years of expertise in health food”. Eden offers a range of organic and vegan products including vegetable and fruit juices, delicatessen and tomato sauces andseasonings. The granoVita brand range features cereals, vegetarian sausages and meat substitutes and spreads.
Hugli said the transaction underlined its endeavour to continue to grow in traditional, consolidated markets.
