Grupo Gallo, the Spanish pasta firm, has entered the ‘quick-cook’ pasta segment with the launch of a new brand under the name Sedalis.
According to sources, the Sedalis line is made with premium durum wheat semolina and goes through a unique drying process that results in a superfine pasta with a texture that helps to enhance the flavour of sauces.
Requiring only three minutes cooking, the Sedalis range is being launched in ‘classic’ spaghetti, spirals and penne versions and is then due to be expanded to include a tomato and spinach pasta, available as spaghetti and spirals.
Sedalis Quick Cook Pasta is being made available in 400g bags at an approximate retail price of €0.89 ($1.08) for the ‘classic’ varieties and €1.39 ($1.53) for the tomato and spinach varieties.
