South African drinks manufacturer Kingsley Beverages is to open up a plant in the UK, which will be the company’s first outside the Middle East and Africa.

Located in Peterborough, the new 14,000 sq m, £36 million ($48 million) facility will include a warehouse and manufacturing facilities as well as office spaces, and construction is set to begin this September. The company currently operates seven factories in Africa and the Middle East, producing and distributing carbonated soft drinks, energy drinks, fruit juices and bottled waters. The plant is designed give the drinks manufacturer a platform to enter the UK drinks market.

“Kingsley has seen exponential volume growth since its inception in 2007”, said Philip Nieman, managing director elect at Kingsley Beverage. “[…] Kingsley is confident that a similar growth opportunity exists in the UK, hence the decision to invest in a modern state of the art manufacturing facility”.
