A malt soft drink called Vigo is set to hit shelves in South Africa after showing positive results in other African markets.
The drink’s manufacturer, Namibia Breweries Ltd, has chosen South Africa as the latest market for the drink, as a result of the brand’s success in Botswana and Zambia where it was launched in late 2013.
Fastmoving reports that the brand has proven the opportunity for a malt-based soft drink, which is said to have been a winner in in both local and export markets.
Hendrik van der Westhuizen, Managing Director of Namibia Breweries, spoke of the launch by saying: “Namibia Breweries Limited’s long term strategic ambition is to leverage regional export markets and unlock exponential volume growth across NBL’s portfolio”.
He went on to say “Since its launch, Vigo has performed beyond expectations”.
