According to Feed Machinery, Mars Poland is planning to invest more than 250 million PLN (approx $80 million) to develop its animal feed factory in Kozuszki Parcel and to launch a new chocolate factory in Janaszowek.
The company has already invested 800 million PLN (approx $256 million) in a factory and office complex near Sochaczew. With the new plan, the total investment in Poland will exceed 1 billion PLN (approx $324 million).
According to reports, the investment at Kozuszki Parcel has been motivated by growing demand for prepared animal feeds in Poland and abroad. The increase in the pet feed market is described as being linked to an increase in awareness among pet owners that prepared food is wholesome and can help guarantee animal health and well-being.
Aku Vikstrom, General Director of Mars Poland Petcare, commented: “We still see great potential for both short-and long-term growth in this market, which will make it becomes one of the largest FMCG categories in Poland.”
