FrieslandCampina, the Dutch dairy producer, has announced that it is exploring options to build a “sustainable and innovative” dairy processing plant in the Netherlands.
The company said the plant was intended for the manufacture of fresh dairy products and ingredients used for the production of early life and adult nutrition, as well as cheese, adding that it would be built “according to the latest insights in the area of technology and sustainability”.
“With this new facility, FrieslandCampina would increase the flexibility of its supply chain to meet increasing market demand for special milk flows and accommodate anticipated growth for the coming years”, the company said in a statement.
It added it was seeking a “greenfield” site due to the plant’s intended size and technical requirements, but did not disclose the level of investment planned.
