Mexico: Casa Maestri to acquire Bellagave Infused Tequila

Mexican tequila distillery Casa Maestri is to acquire Bellagave Infused Tequila, a 100% blue agave tequila brand, for an undisclosed sum, according to a FoodBev report.

The acquisition, which will expand Casa Maestri’s portfolio of premium tequila brands, comes a month after the firm acquired Santera Tequila, a blue weber agave tequila line.

“It’s a perfect time to innovate”, commented Jose Coira, VP of sales at Casa Maestri. “The tequila segment is fast-growing and variations like flavoured tequilas are exploding in popularity with consumers. We are looking forward to bringing this 100% natural option to tequila lovers looking for a light, great-tasting beverage”.

Bellagave Infused Tequila is reportedly low in sugar with a lower-than-usual ABV, and is offered in Mango-Jalapeno and Coconut flavours.
