Today Gama features a new skin care, body wash and hand soap line from the Dial brand in the USA – Dial Greek Yogurt.
Tapping into the growing popularity of Greek yoghurt products and the trend towards protein enrichment, the new yoghurt line offers consumers “protein packed yogurt for deliciously soft skin”.
Greek yoghurt has been the rising star of the yoghurt category in the USA. By nature thicker and creamier – and thus more indulgent – than other yoghurts, Greek yoghurt nonetheless benefits from the “healthy halo” of yoghurt, particularly when compared to other chilled desserts. According to recent figures reported by The Economist, the Greek yoghurt segment in the US is now valued at in excess of $6 billion, having grown from a negligible value in a little over 5 years.
The new line comprises a moisturising body wash “with two times the protein nourishment of ordinary yogurt”, as well as a hand soap and a 7 day moisturising lotion. In a further nod to the Greek yoghurt tradition, the line also contains an extract based on honey.
The Dial Greek Yogurt range is the latest example of how on-trend food or drinks products can be transitioned to the personal care industry, particularly with the pleasure or indulgence theme in mind. Chocolate, caramel, cakes and alcoholic cocktails are among the products to have already influenced marketeers of soaps and bath products looking to give their brands the edge in indulgence.
