Frozen food manufacturer WestCoast Fine Foods has launched as what is described as India’s first ready-to-cook tawa pizza under the Frish brand.
Tawa is a type of flat Indian frying pan typically used for cooking flatbreads. According to sources, Frisch Tawa Pizza provides an advantage over other frozen pizza products as it doesn’t require an oven or microwave for cooking, instead being suitable for traditional tawa cooking.
WestCoast Fine Foods director Shivam Gupta said: “With Frish’s consistent product innovation model, we have been able to bring snack lovers, products that are easy to cook, healthy and taste fantastic. Frish Tawa Pizza will be popular with everyone as a convenient back-up meal, party snack, office food or school tiffin. The biggest advantage is, it can be cooked anywhere on a Tawa in no time”.
The product, which is described as cooking in just seven minutes, is available in two varieties: Classico with toppings of onion, green pepper and cheese at a launch price of 99 INR ($1.44) for a pack of 200g, and Delight with toppings of onion, olives, pepper, sweetcorn and cheese, retailed at 125 INR ($1.82) for a pack of 200g.
