Mondelez India Foods, part of food conglomerate Mondelez International, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, India that is described as the company’s largest factory in Asia Pacific.
According to a company press release, the plant is part of an investment of $190 million and is expected to produce approximately 60,000 tons of “India’s favourite” Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate annually. By 2020, the yearly production capacity is estimated to rise to 250,000 tons and 1,600 jobs are expected to be created by the facility.

The Sri City facility will serve both India and regional markets and is spread over a total site of 134 acres, Mondelez added.
