Goyal Salt, a leader in natural salt production, has announced plans to invest 80 crore INR ($9.6 million) to set up a salt manufacturing facility in Gandhidham, near Kutch, in the state of Gujarat, India.
The Gandhidham facility, spread across 12 acres, is intended to add production capacity of 450,000 tonnes and would supplement the 15-acre Nawa City plant, which produces 210,000 tonnes of salt annually.
Founded in 2010, Goyal Salt specialises in the production of natural salts, offering both industrial and edible varieties such as Triple Refined Free Flow Iodized Salt, Double Fortified Salt, and Triple Refined Half Dry Salt.
Commenting on the investment, Goyal Salt managing director Pramesh Goyal said: “Gandhidham offers a conducive business environment and continues to be a top destination for investments. This new plant is a pivotal step in our expansion journey, enabling us to foster growth in Western and Eastern parts of the country”.
“The Rs 80 crore investment underscores our commitment to making Goyal Salt a household name across India. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the Gandhidham facility will help us deliver world-class products while meeting the growing demand for premium industrial and edible salts”, he added.
The new facility is expected to be operational by the end of January 2025.
