Nestle has announced that it is shedding the brands Alete and Milasan in a shake-up to its baby food portfolio in Germany.
The company’s baby food offer will now be centred on its Beba brand, Nestle said in a statement, with the Alete and Milasan brands to be acquired by a consortium comprising German fund BWK and private investor Horst Jostock. The deal is to include rights to both brands as well as a production facility located in Weiding, Bavaria.
Mr Jostock commented: “We are delighted to acquire Alete and Milasan, two well-renowned brands. We want to invest in both brands and expand into new segments and markets. Nestle will support the transition with guaranteed export volumes, co-packing, IT support and a joint utilisation of Nestle’s field agents”.
Dr. Jochen Wolf, head of BWK, added: “We are convinced of the brands’ potential and believe that our long-term investment plans are good for Alete and Milasan”.
