Groupe Duc, a French processor and marketer of chicken and turkey products, is to be acquired by Dutch poultry firm Plukon, according to a report in Ouest-France.
Groupe Duc, which is France’s fourth largest poultry processor, has over 900 staff and operates a turkey facility in Riec-sur-Belon (Finistere), as well as chicken rearing and production sites in Gouaix, Chailley, Charolles, Crest, Montmeyran and Saint-Bauzely. The firm’s product lines include raw chicken and turkey cuts, organic chicken, chicken nuggets and breaded escalopes, as well as seasonal and halal items. Annual production is in the order of 54,000 tonnes, according to the company website.
The Dutch Plukon group, described as the European market leader in poultry, is set to acquire a 97% stake in the French firm through the transaction.
