Bonduelle, the French specialist in fresh and preserved vegetables, is to launch a new ‘mini can’ format under the name Bonduelle Touche De (Touch Of), according to an article in Lineaires.
Targeting consumers needing only a relatively small quantity of vegetables or pulses for a specific recipe, as well as smaller households, Bonduelle Touch Of Canned Vegetables are sold in cans of around 40g, compared to 300g upwards for a typical can of Bonduelle vegetables. Due to launch in April, packs bear the slogan “awaken your dishes!” and indicate that the vegetables can be used hot or cold.
Cans are sold as a two pack, presented in a box with a “fresh design” in a bid to boost shelf presence, Lineaires adds. The varieties available are Kidney Beans, Sweetcorn, Chickpeas and Mushrooms, and the total pack retails for between €1.20 and €1.40 ($1.29 and $1.51), depending on the variety.
