Consumer goods giant Nestle has announced it is investing R$500 million ($90 million) in its Brazilian coffee operations between now and 2028 to expand production capacity, grow its Nestle Professional machine fleet and accelerate consumer-focused innovation.
A key focus for the new investment is said to be the Nescafe Dolce Gusto factory in Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, which enables continuous local product launches. Since 2020, all new Brazilian launches have been developed domestically, the company said.
The new amount comes on top of R$1 billion ($180 million) announced last year to develop Nestle’s coffee business in Brazil.
Commenting on the move, Nestle Brazil executive director of coffees Valéria Pardal said: “We are constantly investing in innovation to respond to consumers who are seeking variety, convenience and quality. This new investment cycle expands our capacity to create solutions that reflect Brazilians’ diverse tastes and consumption habits”.
