Coca-Cola has announed the launch of tea capsules under its Leao and Matte Leao brands for the Brazilian market.
The new tea capsules are said to be compatible with Nespresso coffee makers and are available in three versions: Matte Leao Original and the “premium” line Leao Senses, which comes in the flavours Blackberry, Blueberry & Vanilla and Passionfruit, Orange & Ginger.
According to Coca-Cola, the clear capsules have an internal paper filter that makes a light drink with a distinctive flavour, and also feature a seal that preserves the aroma.
Commenting on the launch, Marcelo Corrêa, national sales manager of Leao Alimentos e Bebidas said: “The convenience and practicality of these new capsules meets the needs of consumers in their daily lives. The product enables consumers to prepare their Leao tea in less than a minute, without having to heat up water and put it into a cup with a sachet. Our new launch gives consumers a quick and easy way to enjoy the taste of traditional Leao teas”.
The new products come in a box of 10, with each capsule making 200ml of tea. The Matte Leao Original version has an RRP of R$19.90 ($5.13), whilst the Leao Senses variants are priced at R$22.90 ($5.90).
