Brazilian beverage producer Ambev has launched its first mineral water in the market under the AMA brand.
According to the company, the product will initially be distributed in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, but it is expected to be available in the rest of the country by the end of the year.
The company is said not to be profiting from sales of the new launch, as 100% of profits will be donated to water access projects in Brazilian’s semi-arid region.
Bernardo Paiva, Ambev’s CEO said: “We are very happy to launch AMA. This is a unique innovation in the Brazilian market because, when someone buys a bottle of AMA, 100% of the profit goes to projects that help those who need water the most”.
The still water is available in 500ml bottles priced at R$1.79 ($0.57).
