Leading household paper firm Kimberly-Clark has announced an expansion of its operational capability in Australia with the opening of a “state-of-the-art” distribution centre in Ravenhall, Victoria.
According to sources, the 23,000 sq m facility is the company’s second largest in Australia and the first of several investments planned to offer faster and more efficient services to customers.
The centre will reportedly double the company’s storage capacity and also enable a 30% annual increase in outbound deliveries of brands such as Kleenex, U by Kotex, Huggies, Poise, Depend and Viva.
Commenting on the move, Belinda Driscoll, managing director of Kimberly-Clark Australia, said: “The opening of our new distribution centre in Victoria not only underscores Kimberly-Clark Australia’s pursuit of operational excellence, but also reaffirms our unwavering commitment to our customers and consumers, local manufacturing, and the planet. With a sharp focus on sustainability and efficiency, the facility will enable us to better respond to the always on demands of Aussie shoppers while at the same time reducing our carbon footprint”.
The new distribution centre is also intended to reduce carbon emissions through its use of solar power and more streamlined transport routes.
