The Argentinian division of consumer goods giant Nestle has announced it has opened a new production line for the manufacture of “value added” milk products at a site in Planta de Villa Nueva, in the province of Cordoba.
The 480 million ARS ($12 million) spend, part of 4-year, 5.2 billion ARS ($130 million) investment plan, will enable Nestle allows to manufacture 10 million litres of UHT milk products every year under the Nesquik, Nido and NAN brands.
Commenting on the investment, Gian Carlo Aubry, CEO and President of Nestle Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, said: “We have been present in Argentina for 89 years, as a leader in the powdered milk market, and this has encouraged to drive the development of our brands. Today we’re announcing our entry into the liquids market with value added products, in order to offer something new to our customers, drive the growth of our business, boost our export potential and become pioneers in new projects, like organic milk and A2 milk”.
