Carolina Foods, a bakery and pastry manufacturer, has announced it is building a new manufacturing facility in Pineville, NC.
According to sources, the new facility will cover an area of 423,000 sq ft and will be operational by 2023.
Commenting on the move, Carolina Foods CEO Dan Myers said: “In addition to being twice the size of our current space, our new facility will be totally climate controlled, providing a pleasant work environment that also allows us to maintain our high-quality standards”.
The company plans to close its current facility in 2024, before which the two facilities will be run simultaneously. No changes are expected in the permanent workforce post-move, although there may be a 20% uplift in the temporary workforce.
