Danone, the food and beverage multinational, has announced a partnership with plant-based foods producer Earth Island to acquire 100% of its shares as well as the Follow Your Heart Brand.
The Follow Your Heart product portfolio includes dairy-free cheeses and yoghurt, egg-free mayonnaise, cream cheese alternatives, and salad dressings.
Danone said the deal would expand its plant-based offerings, adding Follow Your Heart to existing plant-based brands such as Alpro, Silk, and So Delicious Dairy Free.
Danone North America EVP and CEO Shane Grant said: “Consumers are increasingly eating flexitarian diets, and we look forward to working with the Follow Your Heart team to offer our consumers even more choices. This partnership will build on our success in plant-based beverages, yogurt alternatives and creamers, further accelerating the growth of our North American plant-based business”.
