Danone, the food and beverage multinational company, has announced a partnership with plant-based foods producer Earth Island to acquire 100% of its shares and the Follow Your Heart Brand.
Within Follow Your Heart products portfolio are dairy-free cheeses and yogurt, egg-free mayonnaise, cream cheese alternatives, and salad dressings, thus, this agreement will enable Danone to enlarge its plant-based offerings with Follow Your Heart products being alongside some of its present plant-based brands such as Alpro, Silk, and So Delicious Dairy Free.
Danone North America EVP and CEO, Shane Grant, said: “Consumers are increasingly eating flexitarian diets, and we look forward to working with the Follow Your Heart team to offer our consumers even more choices. This partnership will build on our success in plant-based beverages, yogurt alternatives and creamers, further accelerating the growth of our North American plant-based business”.
Commenting on this partnership the co-founder and CEO of Earth Island, Bob Goldberg, added: “We’re very pleased to be joining the Danone family of plant-based companies in a collective effort to bring positive change in the world through the creation of sustainably and responsibly-made foods”.
